The first step is often the most difficult

It is fascinating how a blank page whether it is a piece of paper, an empty canvas, or a new Blog can seem so intimidating.  Is it the emptiness or the amount of words I would like to put down to fill it up?  Choosing the words, wondering if anyone really cares, deciding that shouldn't matter, and then  moving forward and posting is a simple process, right?

I am reading a book authored by Donald Miller titled A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and keep coming across sentences that wake up brain cells and give me courage to move forward.  The most recent is "It's true that while ambition creates fear, it also creates the story.  But it's a good trade, because as soon as you point toward a horizon life no longer feels meaningless.  And suddenly there is risk in your story and a question about whether you'll make it"  (p 113).  I tend to live on the edge, taking on huge challenges and, though not always completing them, am changed personally, relationally, and professionally each time by each one.

May all of you have a very Merry Christmas and Happy (Safe) New Year!
